Quran verses about paradise

The Quran most often calls Paradise al-Janna, the Garden, and describes it with images that speak to people in a hot, dry land: rivers flowing beneath, lasting shade, fruit within easy reach, neither burning sun nor bitter cold. It is described as wide as the heavens and the earth. It also has its own names, among them Jannat al-Firdaws and Jannat 'Adn.

Beyond its comforts, the Quran stresses what Paradise feels like. There is no idle talk, only peace. Ill-feeling is removed from hearts, and no fatigue touches anyone. People are reunited with righteous family members. The Quran also says that no soul knows what joy is hidden for it, and that Allah's pleasure is greater than all of it. The verses below begin with the invitation, describe the Garden, and end with what the Quran calls the supreme success.

And race towards forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.
    Ali 'Imran 3:133

Believers are told to hurry toward forgiveness and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those mindful of Allah.

Race towards forgiveness from your Lord; and a Garden as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. That is the grace of Allah; He bestows it on whomever He wills. Allah is the Possessor of Immense Grace.
    Al-Hadid 57:21

A similar call to race toward a Garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers.

The likeness of the Garden promised to the righteous: rivers flowing beneath it; its food is perpetual, and so is its shade. Such is the sequel for those who guard against evil, but the sequel of the disbelievers is the Fire.
